Our Mission and Vision
Founded in 1952,
Pet Haven is proud to be Minnesota's oldest foster-based animal rescue. Pet Haven improves the lives of pets and the people who love them by rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming dogs and cats; reducing pet overpopulation by supporting spay and neuter efforts; and providing resources to people to help strengthen the animal-human bond.
Our vision is a Minnesota where all pets live in safe, loving homes.

How We Help
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat is placed with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal's temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care, and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we're working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
- We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
- We do not euthanize animals unless they have an untreatable health or behavioral condition that denies them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
