Tell us your Cool Cat's story!
Embers was the first cat I fostered, while living out in Oregon. She was dumped near the farmhouse where I was staying, which was on a busy road. I was pretty sure she was pregnant, so I brought her inside - I didn't want her to get hit by a car. I took her to the vet & sure enough, she was carrying a litter. Fast forward several weeks & she gave birth to five kittens! She was such a friendly kitty & was a great introduction to fostering for me. This was during the crazy wildfires of 2020, so I gave all of the kitties fire-related names. Overall she was great with her babies, though she didn't take to the tiny runt of the litter - whom I named Wisp of Smoke, so I ended up bottle feeding him at times & giving him extra care. I found homes for Embers & her babies - and Wisp found a home with me.

I thought this photo would be a great one for October because of the contrast of her fur with the orange flooring. Plus, she came into my life during a scary time & helped me get through. She is the reason I'm a foster volunteer with Pet Pride today!

Cool Cat Fact
Embers liked to squeeze behind me & lay down when I sat in a chair.
