Your Pet's Story or Bio
Saving Dave is one of the greatest gifts of my life. He was brought to the shelter as a stray in July 2013, age estimated to be somewhere between 12-15 years. He showed obvious signs of severe abuse and neglect: almost totally blind, mostly deaf, bad knees, and a horrible case of flea-bite dermatitis, with his hind end shaved and scabbed. And he was black. With all of this working against him, the shelter marked him for immediate euthanasia. I don't blame them, though. I blame the irresponsible people who don't alter or even care for their pets, and whoever was directly responsible for Dave's sad predicament. But PWP came to his rescue! Laura put a hold on him, and posted his picture on Face Book. I saw it and fell in love instantly. I knew the minute I looked into his eyes that he had probably never known a day of love, happiness, or comfort in his whole life. And I knew I could give him those things, so that's what I did. I loved him with all my heart. Dave died peacefully this past June. He was a good boy and he will always be in my heart.
