Maya was very shy at first and would hide in any small space she could find in the blink of an eye. We eventually reached a temporary compromise where she would wiggle into the couch cushions or under the pillows where we could pet her. Soon after, she began warming up to my wife and now Maya follows her everywhere. Maya also roams the house freely, loves to look out the windows and play with her toy mice. Here's a picture of one of her favorite places. She loves to sit in the window catching some rays and chirping back at the birds.
