Being a Hairstylist is not easy! I should know, after 19 years of beautifying the world I found myself in a strange place.........
My life was changed in under 4 hours. I was diagnosed with a rare Neuro-Immune disease that only effects 1.6 million people. Scary? You have no idea. After spending my whole career using my hands I could not move them. After 19 years of hard labor standing on my feet in "cute" shoes I could not walk. So I had two options, I could give up or I could beat this. I choose the only real option which was to fight. Do not get me wrong I had and still have pity parties but I don't allow them to stay long when they come to visit. After learning how to do pretty much everything all over again and 10 months of occupational and physical therapy I knew I needed to get back into the beauty industry. Now what? You see my right arm and hand are not quit right and I cannot stand or sit for long periods of time. Through a few connections I have found my forever career home at The Lauren Ashtyn Collection.
