I am a first grade teacher and for a year and a half now, I have been a member of a group of Pin-ups called Cherry's Belles.
The group's initiative serves two purposes at once; Boosting women’s confidence founding a group of pin-ups of all ethnicities, shapes, body types and ages, increasing every woman's self-esteem proving we are all beautiful, in a society bombarded by stereotypes.
Then, this group of motivated empowered women works as a team, a sisterhood, to make fundraising projects come to life and be as fun as successful. The Belles help women help each other and help the whole community.
Cherry’s Belles organize fundraisers such as car Shows, Art Swaps, Rat Rods, Pin-Up contests, Car and bike wash, to raise much needed money for associations helping grieving children, intellectual and development disabilities, cebrebral palsy, animal shelters ... So far the group has raised a few hundred dollars at a time, but as its expertise and name are growing, it will have more impact !
Becoming a Belle has enlivened the life of each and every one of the 8 members of the group. Everyone feels worthy and useful, respecting themselves and others and staying body positive. With boosted confidence we feel like conquering the world and making it a better place. Being a Belle is an exhilarating experience !
I have always loved everything pin-up, but the Belles have unleashed the pin-up in me. At 49 years old, I feel younger and sexier than ever !
