Why my pup is special (120 words)
Summitt is so resilient. He embodies every bit of the strength that his namesake Pat Summitt had. After being dumped at a high kill shelter in Texas when he was just a few years old, he was brought to Kansas, where I got him from a rescue. He's just been the happiest little guy ever since. A year ago, he suffered a back injury, as many dachshund and dachshund mixes do. And even though he can't walk anymore, you can't tell him that. There's nothing that keeps him down. Whether in his cart or scooting on his bottom, he dashes around the backyard chasing squirrels with his Chiweenie brother.
