Why my pup is special (120 words)
We always had rescue long haired dachshunds. Our last one passed suddenly two days before Christmas 2022. Heartbroken we weren’t looking for another until one day February 2023 a little brown and white dachshund darted in front of our car. No collar, had not seen him before, so I stopped thinking he was lost. The neighbor came out and said he was theirs. Told her great since I thought he was lost. One week later going the same way there he lies in the middle of the street scratching his back on a sun spot not even bothering to move. I stop and told him I was going to tell his momma on him and he raced me to the door. The dad came out, said the dog’s name is Toby. He was his dad’s who recently passed away. Do we want a dog? We arranged for a visit, he sauntered right in and that was that. The love Toby gives could save the world. He’s our angel dog.
