Pet’s rescue story in 500 words or less
Maggie, our 9-year-old Basset Hound, was rescued in October 2022 from the shelter. She was found wandering the roads of Titusville for a few days while many locals were trying to capture her. Unfortunately, Maggie was then hit by a car twice and nobody even bothered to stop. She ran into the woods and five days later a young boy and his mom were able to capture her and take her to the animal emergency center. Her paw was infested with maggots and she lost two of her toes. Her back tail area was also injured. She weighed 22 lbs and was frail. Maggie was in the shelter for 6 months and was found to be heartworm-positive. We adopted her the minute we saw her, no questions asked. She is the sweetest Basset Hound who is now worm-free and loves belly rubs, ear scratches, and sleeping in her cozy dog bed. Maggie will know nothing but endless love in her golden years. Maggie wants you to know that she has so much love to give as a senior and would love to be the face of Poocherella.
