Cooper and
I met the day after he was brought to the shelter. An archaeology trip to Jordan over the anniversary of losing my dog Nitro inspired me to volunteer at a shelter. My appreciation for shelter workers overcame my sadness of losing my former dog Nitro.

Please tell us about the photo entry
Cooper started out just admiring the water and riding in a paddle boat. He wouldn't start swimming until another year later. Now he is not only a running dog, but also a swimming dog, and occasionally a unicycle dog.
