About

Prairie Pet Coalition Oklahoma is organized to establish longstanding solutions to eliminate unnecessary euthanasia of homeless cats in Oklahoma.

Prairie Pet Coalition Oklahoma rescues homeless cats from community cat colonies & from municipal shelters in Oklahoma. We are an all volunteer, foster based 501c3 nonprofit organization with a home base in Tulsa, OK. Our rescue cats come from all over the state and we welcome special needs cats.

Prairie Pet Coalition Oklahoma believes that the only way to solve it is through spay and neuter of ALL cats including feral cats. No cat leaves our custody without being sterilized. Prairie Pet Coalition Oklahoma tenaciously advocates for Trap-Neuter-Return protocols to stop overpopulation in free-roaming, unowned cats living outside in colonies. Many of our adoptable kittens are rescued from outdoor community cat colonies during a Trap-Neuter-Return project.

Prairie Pet Coalition Oklahoma has three main objectives:
Rescue & Adoption: Prairie Pet cats are rescued from shelters & the streets and adopted by caring families that will keep the cats indoors, safe and loved.

Community Education & Pet Owner Assistance: When our neighbors need help, we want to provide the resources they need to be successful. This includes low cost spay/neuter, training resources, affordable vet services, etc.

Out of State Transport: Since there are not enough families to adopt all of the cats in Oklahoma, Prairie Pet Coalition arranges transports to states where the spay and neuter laws are enforced and the pet population is controlled.
