Pet's Story or Bio
Gizmo was my Highland friend for 14 years. As far as we know, he was a cross between Shepherd and Husky. He came from a shelter in Eugene and found his home with us here in the dense forest and ridges of the Coast Range. His golden eyes and white coat were dramatic, as was the distinct howl of greeting or harmony with the coyotes in the valley in the dark of the night. He knew how to handle control the creatures of the forest with ease, including chasing (and being chased) by the herds of elk which frequent our acreage. I miss the daily experiences of the wilds which we enjoyed together. He was the "dog of the woods." I have a new friend now, but the memories will always be my deepest pleasure.
