Rescue Story
George the Puggle was an owner surrender. His family hit some hard times financially, and had to give up several of their dogs because they were moving from a house to an apartment. The family asked Pug Rescue of Florida to take George, and I was dispatched to transport him. Transporting very quickly morphed into fostering. While ol' handsome George was popular at adoption events, he never even got a nibble or even a single application. George, however, had already made up his mind that he was our dog. After more than a year of trying, we finally agreed to his demand. For Father's Day, my wife surprised me by making George officially my dog. Since then, George has become an integral part of the Wacht grumble. In fact, he doesn't like to be separated from the family. When we visit my in-laws for Christmas, we let George stay with them, and he was a nervous wreck all night until I showed up for breakfast. During the day, George can often be found lying in the front window, keeping an eye on the neighborhood or waiting for daddy to come home.
