Purr Partners Feline Rescue is a 501(c)(3), no-kill, all-volunteer organization dedicated to saving the lives of cats and kittens in central North Carolina. Purr Partners was incorporated in 2009 by two friends, 4 cats, and no budget. These two women recognized the need for a "cat only" rescue that works with rural shelters. Purr Partners was founded to save the lives of those most in jeopardy with little hope of survival. High-kill rural shelters became the focus for Purr Partners, and that is still true today.
From those humble beginnings, the rescue has grown to over a hundred active volunteers and a budget of approximately $175,000. At any given time, there are between 100 and 150 cats and kittens in loving foster homes. We have saved the lives of over 3300 cats and are still growing!
Purr Partners manages the PetSmart Adoption Centers in Wake Forest and in Raleigh at the Six Forks Station and Capital Crossings shopping centers. Adoption events are held every weekend from 11:30am - 3pm. Find out more at purrpartners.org/adopt/ or on our Facebook page PurrPartnersNC.
Every Purr Partners cat and kitten lives in the loving homes of our volunteer foster families – we do not have a public facility. Each of our cats are well-socialized because they live in a home, not in a cage, and we get to know each kitty’s personality and care for them with love. While foster homes will continue to be the foundation of feline care at Purr Partners, we are raising funds for our new Quarantine and Intake Center. The center will allow us to provide medical care, quarantine and isolation rooms, spay and neuter facilities, and adoption opportunities to hundreds of cats and kittens annually.
Our vision is to create a space which enables us to provide optimal care for the animals we serve and to serve as many as possible.
