Octavia and Johanna came into the care of RRMN as part of the "Avalanche", an intake of released breeder bunnies. The start of their freedom wasn't easy as they were traumatized by the terrorizing memories of their former life. Many of the Avalanche never recovered from their past fears and now live comfortably, and forever safe, in sanctuary foster homes. Some were adopted! Octavia and Johanna had many foster homes and were deemed unadoptable. They came to be in the care of a couple that gave them patience and endless love to slowly trust again. When asked by the rescue if they would consider being a sanctuary home for them, they said no. Octavia and Johanna deserved a family of their own. Without hesitation the foster family adopted them! They are now thriving and no longer flinch when approached. Their fun-loving personalities have emerged and they have a family name!
