We are a small group of rescuers with a large amount of passion for dogs and cats!!!
Our Mission: To promote animal welfare through public awareness, to act as a rescue screening and placement service for animals needing foster and adoptive homes from high-kill shelters and to act as a resource for other rescues, shelters and prospective adopters.
Founded August 2010 by founder and Chairman Libby Marquardt, RORR is a 501(c)3 organization and is 100% volunteer.
We focus on the dogs who are the last to be adopted and saved from shelters: black dogs, hound dogs and senior dogs. Almost 25% of the dogs placed in adoptive homes by RORR are over 8 years old (seniors).
Since our beginning in 2010 we have placed nearly 2,500 dogs and cats in their forever homes.
We are dedicated to those rural area shelters with great dogs and cats who have no homes. Our efforts are to help those shelters find safety for their animals and adopters to find a perfect fit. We are careful to temperament test every dog and make sure they are both people and dog friendly.
We are here to provide you with the resources necessary to find a great family companion, provide you with certified trainers to ensure a happy life in your home, and be a resource center for any and all needs you may have during the lifetime of your adopted dog or cat.
Senior Dogs: As rescuers, we can never understand how someone can just get "tired" of a dog. These are living creatures and have given all their love and dedication to a family, only to be dumped in a shelter where the likelihood of them being adopted is very slim. They are usually easy going, housebroken, gentle, and do not ask for much other than a nice walk, good food and to lay at your feet. They are ideal for a more sedentary home... but they are also a great fit for young children or seniors. Talk to us about a senior dog, and we will match you correctly.
