Dear Finlay, We were overjoyed to learn about your adoption and the amazing life you're now living. Just like you, we originated from the same place and spent months at the shelter. Our mom and dad brought us into their home, welcoming Carl in May 2022 and Rufus in January 2023. They suspected that we were related, and DNA tests have confirmed that we are brothers! We are sure that you are our brother too. We would love to meet you at the dog park someday for a reunion. Our mom and dad are just as eager as we are to see you again. They volunteer at the Humane Society, and the time they spent with you during your stay there was truly special to them. If you ever wish to reconnect, the staff at the CA Humane can help us get in touch. Your brothers, Carl and Rufus

Thanks Finlay for always being there for me when I need you. I knew the moment I met you that you were the one that would always be by my side as we walk the path of this horrible disease PTSD. It’s like you feel my every moment and know exactly when I need your head laying on my lap to help me deal with the day’s ever increasing problems. Every second you are there is like I’m getting a full day of calmness and serenity. I’m now certain you know what I’m going through because you went through your own battles being in the shelter for 14 months before we rescued you. I love you Finlay more than you can ever know and I wouldn’t want any other dog walking this journey with me except you.

Finlay it’s really been great getting to know you these past four months, your so easy going and you don’t ever even notice me when I walk past you. I’d like it though if you didn’t eat all my cat food, you get enough food of your own twice a day It is nice having a younger brother though as I can get you in trouble with mom and dad pretty fast. Like last night at 1:30 am when I coaxed you to follow me down the back alley after day had let you out to poop, you bolted and dad had to drive all over the neighborhood to find you. Man he was mad when he returned home after not finding you and when he got out of the car you were on the front lawn and you started barking at him. That was so funny. You’ll Learn!

Finlay, the transformation you have made from that timid, shaking no confidence or really any knowledge of what dogs naturally do. You were on very strong antidepressants for your anxiety. After a half an our trip to your forever new home our Vet took you off of. Them. He prescribed you take CBD oil. Now we have slowly wiened you off of that as well. You are a whole new dog, always happy and smiling, out playing with the other dogs at the off leash park, actually going camping with your family to even going and playing in the lake something I never saw coming. We are so proud of you Finlay and you deserve to be on the cover of the Central Alberta Humane Ssociety 2024 calendar. Good Luck!

Finlay you bring me such joy and happiness. Even if I am having a bad day one smile and a tail wag or two and all my troubles just disappear. I look forward to spending the rest of my life with you by my side. Woof Woof
