Today was a really challenging day. Both Ben and Jane were away--Ben had a family emergency and had to fly to Florida, and Jane had jury duty. It was the rarest day--Bodie was alone in the house. Jane was so worried... Jane arrived home at 5:00, distraught. Bodie went outside and proceeded to show off and run around and smile and shoot love eyes at Jane, who was marveling about this boy...pure love both ways. We need each other and take great pleasure in each moment we spend together. Thank you for arranging this adoption. By the way, every one of the entrants into this contest brings tears to the eyes...this "contest " is such a fun community fundraiser. Congratulations to all! Win/win for the Setters!jane carlin

We all have "stuff" in our lives. We have our reasons for fostering/adopting, and all of the stories are compelling...Bodie came to us, as you have read, and we had our initial challenges. This boy Bodie (AKA Bubbaclicious) has been a constant bright light, a seat on the sofa, offering kisses and snuggling, meaningful eye contact. Daily walks are the high point for us. Sad stories from both sides of our family abound. Sometimes, Ben and I break away and go out to have a drink/meal, (I always say, at least once, "I just love that boy"...) and when we get home, there is this wonderful friend, waiting to go out in the yard and show off. I have multiple videos of this boy, joyfully racing around, and then coming back onto the deck for a kiss. Right now, he has just gone upstairs...Signing off now! jane/ben
