Waffles joined our family nearly 5 years ago after we saw him on the local shelter's website near our previous home in Maryland. The town EMT/fire department had brought him in after he strolled into their truck bay for a nap that July 4th holiday. Once he'd gotten lots of pets, a good meal, and a few joy rides in the ambulance they took him to the shelter where they named him Jorts.

From there, the rest is history. We swooped him up, renamed him Waffles, introduced him to his calico cat big sister, and moved him to Iowa the next year. He's 1/2 Beagle, 1/2 Shiba Inu but 100% Good Boy, pictured here questioning dad sharing his beer at Waterworks Park.
