My mommy adopted me when I was just 2 years old from Buffalo NY (SPCA-Erie county) . I was very scared of everything especially people because I was badly abused & chained in a basement most of my life before being rescued. My mom took the time to get to know me, I started earning her trust slowly (I would only eat hot dogs from her hand) we became very bonded, then I started to meet more and more people and everyone loved me so much, I would run around in the snow and go to the dog park daily.
Then we moved to Charleston South carolina, it’s a lot warmer here! Now I spend my days basking in the sunshine, going swimming in my pool, running the beach, chasing lizards and going for a walk after dinner with my pet sibling.
I am not scared of anything anymore, in fact I am the calmest dog and always get compliments under the table at breweries on how well behaved I am.
It turns out what I really needed to be treated as part of the family. I turn 10 this year - my mommy always throws me a birthday party; I wonder what special treat I will get this year. Love, Gypsy
