I am Fletcher’s 5th and final home in his 4 short years of life. He has been bounced around with no training and not a lot of attention. He was kept in a garage or back yard most of the time. When I got him, he was a wild child! No discipline whatsoever. One home fostered him for a week and gave him back. I took him to a professional trainer, and now he is close to the perfect dog. He still counter surfs, but he’s a lab and food driven. Now he enjoys long walks, boat rides and swimming, running in the ocean, and visits to the Barrel on Folly where he is the social butterfly. I usually rescue senior labs (I have 4 total), but I couldn’t pass up this sweet, goofy, water loving boy. A dogs behavior in the shelter/rescue will never be their behavior at home, but a lot of people don’t give it the full 3 months for the dogs to adjust. I will be a life long rescuer! So many wonderful dogs that just need a chance!
