My age...
9-ish

My city...
Charleston

I am the best ambassador for the Palmetto Rescue Brew Beer because...
My rescue story is 100% rescue and 100% Charleston. I'm Penny, short for Independence (I was adopted just before July 4, 2012.) I think I'm about 9 in people years. I also think I'm a mix of Border Collie, Golden Retriever and Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever (my pink nose is the DTR give-away!)

When I was found on a Wadmalaw farm in spring 2012, I was timid, malnourished, covered in ticks and fleas, and just two days away from giving birth to five puppies. Dr. Henri Bianucci, one of Charleston's best-known and most-loved veterinarians (and current Post & Courier columnist) and his friends were instrumental in my rescue and care in those early weeks.

My five puppies were born healthy and super-cute -- so it's no surprise they were adopted immediately. But I was scrawny and hairless (stupid flea and tick treatment!) and no one wanted to adopt me!

Today, I live with the best family in Charleston, and all five of my puppies live in the area. I know ALL the tricks -- and even though I never learned to walk on a leash -- I might be the smartest, most obedient, happiest dog in town. I'm even the Norm (a la "Cheers") of our neighborhood bar ("Penny!") so I really want to be Ambassador for the Palmetto Rescue Brew Beer!
