I am proof rescues are worth it. Hey ya’ll, my name is Jinger, but you can call me Snaps. I am a rescue from a kill shelter in Carthage, NC. I was heart worm and hook worm positive, but my parents did not mind, my snaggle tooth smile, happy tail and soulful eyes stole their hearts. In their minds I was worth the hardship. My big sister Jesse showed me how to dog which prepared me for being a big sister to our cat brother who was rescued 4 months later. After a year or so of quarterly vet visits, I got a clean bill of health. I was able to finally enjoy the rewards of not only being loved but no longer being sick.

As a Boxer Chihuahua, I have heart, true grit, and spirit. By nature, I am gentle yet protective. I will ALWAYS have your back. You can count on me to sing the song of my people every time a vehicle revs a little too loudly or when the doorbell rings; that ice cream truck is suspect too. Now that I am a senior, when my parents or skin brother get a bit too animated I will let them know. “Not on my watch” I always say. Good vibes and chillin’ with my pack are what I am about. Give me a bonfire in the backyard and a good belly rub and I am your mate for life.
