My name is Doce. Doce means twelve in Spanish. My new family chose this name for me because on 12/12/19, they saved my life. My previous owners surrendered me to a kill shelter in Los Angeles, California. My new family and I will never know why. I was scarred and my anxiety caused me to bark a lot and chew on my cage to escape the shelter. Because of this, I was scheduled to be euthanized on 12/12 at 3:00pm. Meanwhile, in Charleston, S.C., a woman who has a love for Bull Terriers called the LA shelter inquiring about another dog who had been placed on the RED LIST. When she was told there was a dog, me, in a more urgent situation....there was no turning back. My Mom moved mountains to make arrangements for me to be picked up on 12/12 by 3:00. She found out about me on 12/10. It became her mission to save my life without knowing my age, what I looked like, or my personality. She only knew that she was not going to let me die. She was determined and persistent to make all the arrangements, and on 12/31/19 I arrived to South Carolina to start my new life. I have a sister that I adore named Blanca; she looks just like the Target dog and Spud Mackenzie. I have an amazing Mom, which you already know, and my Dad is the coolest ever! I am so thankful to be alive, loved, and happy.
