We found Luke in a kill shelter 8 years ago. When we walked in the back, some dogs were barking, some dogs were quite, but Luke stood out. Even though he was sick, riddled with bugs and had been there for months, he was the only dog jumping around all over his pen with this look of pure joy to see us. It was love at first sight. Now that he's an old hound dog, he enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like napping on laundry and chasing down the odd bug. He still has time to run down a golf cart or motorcycle every now and again, and Lord help any bird that flies through the back yard. But if you asked him what matters most, he'd say a soft furry blanket and some good ol' fashioned neck scratches. And mommy. Definitely a momma's boy.
