Don’t let his cute eyebrow fool you - Bruin has paws with a cause and is the perfect pup to represent rescues on the Palmetto Brewing Company’s 2020 Rescue “Bru” Beer!

Bruin aka “Bru Bru” (formerly King) was rescued by the Charleston Animal Society at the end of September 2019 from a devastatingly cruel and neglectful situation. He was tied outside to a grill on top of an ant hill which left him with painful bites covering his entire body. Bruin was completely emaciated when he was rescued - starved to only 38 lbs (now weighs 75 lbs.). He was found full of parasites and heart worms, oozing sores, bleeding paws, broken toe, a gash around his neck from being tied up, and his back leg was infected with a wound that nearly reached the bone. Despite being treated so horribly by humans, Bruin shows no signs of holding a grudge. His snuggly and goofy personality wins over everyone who meets him. Bruin is exactly what our family never knew we needed.

Bruin has served as an Ambassador for Charleston Animal Society by raising awareness about Animal Neglect and Cruelty. He also serves as an incredible breed Ambassador for Pitbulls and wants to work towards ending Breed Specific Legislation and the stigma against Pitties which results in the euthanasia of over 1-million Pitbull-type dogs every year. Bruin says he would love the chance to keep representing rescues and Pitbulls alike by becoming the 2020 Rescue “Bru” Beer Spokesdog!
