When I first came to the shelter, I was shaking in my cold kennel refusing to eat, drink, or be close to anyone; I was terrified! I was fed hot dogs to get into my good graces, but all I wanted was someone to love me unconditionally. At my lowest point in my doggie life is when I met my mommy! She loved me, gave me a warm bed to sleep in, fed me lots of treats, and cuddled me until I came out of my shell. Now, I jump around at 9 years young, go to the dog park to people watch, enjoy green beans with my meals twice a day, and sun bath on the patio. I went from a depressed, unwashed shelter dog to the most spoiled pup in the whole wide world! My mommy gave me hope that there are good people in this world who don’t abuse me, torture me, or leave me outside 24/7. She showed me how to love, play, and appreciate life again. My life story is far from perfect, but I couldn’t ask for a more perfect life now! People like my mommy are what shelter animals like me dream about while we are locked in “doggie jail”! If I could give any human one piece of advice, this is it: don’t judge a dog by his cover. Shelters like the one I came from made me anxious from my ears to my toes! Just love your pets unconditionally!
