My name is Dixie and I was abused as a baby. I was kicked so hard that I had to have surgery to move my organs from one side of my chest cavity to the other. I also had a broken jaw that was never fixed so I have a big lump there. I was 4 months old when I was found so I never knew what it was like to be a playful pup since my surgeries kept me from being active for the next few months. I was rescued when I was 10 months old and weighed 25 lbs. Now I have the best life ever - playing ball, going for long walks, swimming in a beautiful lake in NY in the summer. In the winters, I go to Florida and walk on the beach and sun by our pool. And I weigh 50 lbs and am so healthy!
