Hi, i’m Morty! In 2017, I was flown into Charleston from Puerto Rico and transferred to Charleston Animal Society. I was one of the many animals rescued when the category 5 Hurricane Irma hit Puerto Rico. When my parents met me at Charleston Animal Society, I was terrified, I didn’t trust anyone, and I would not let them near me. Thankfully, they saw something in me, took a chance, and brought me home! It took me a while to warm up to them and accept their love. I quickly bonded with my humans and they are the only two people I trust even to this day. I have gotten so much better with strangers though as long as they aren’t in my house, I really need to protect my humans. I’m the happiest dog now. My favorite things in life are my humans, getting dirty, FOOD, wrestling with my golden retriever brother Archie, and getting the zoomies. I would love to be a spokesperson to advocate for rescue dogs and inspire people to adopt!
