Hi! My name is Maverick. When I first came to the Charleston Animal Society, I was in 'ruff' shape. I had such a bad case of fleas I couldn't grow hair, and had cuts on my face and neck from being bit by other dogs.

I was very scared, but my friends at the Charleston Animal Society took great care of me and helped me find a new home. My family adopted me last Thanksgiving, and I have been the happiest pup ever since. I love to run around in my backyard, take long walks around the neighborhood, and cuddle up with my human brother for family movie nights.

I used to be scared of other dogs, but I've made so many new friends and even have sleepovers with them sometimes. My mom tells me I'm very smart, because I've learned a lot of new words and commands like "paw" "sit" "roll over" and my favorite, "fetch." I never thought I would have this many toys in my whole life.

I can't thank the Charleston Animal Society enough for my happy new life.
