Hi my name is Goonie because my parents like to believe I was lost pirate pup. I give the air shark-bites, I creep like Jaws, and just an all around goon. I think I should be your next spokesdog because I'm proof that patience, time, trust, and love can turn a Rescue's life around.
Being stuck in a shelter was scary. I had a family that I got to play with as a puppy, but I found myself there as a teenager and didn't know why. I cried a lot, and didn't like strangers touching my face. Having only one eye, it startled me! I didn't even want to leave the cage, walks were scary, and don't even think about getting me in that car! I just dug my paws in and plopped. If I gave them dead weight they couldn't take me somewhere worse, right?
Now I love meeting strangers, and I think the best way to introduce myself is by doing leg tunnels. You get the best back scratches that way, you should try it! I've also learned that my new family just loves to adventure. When I calm down and trust them I can accomplish anything! I now love walks, long hikes, going for a car ride, camping (and getting really dirty 😈) and playing with a ball like a cat. Hey they're slippery, and a good reason for zoomies in the yard! Now, I'm learning how to swim.
This has been the best summer yet!
