Kona came to me when she was about 2.5 years old. She had been bounced from home to home to shelter to shelter, never knowing more than a crate or kennel for 18+ hours a day. She came to me when I needed her most but never realized I did. She has saved my life in more ways than I can count. Kona also loves beer. 2 weeks after she came to me my brother threw a new year’s party. She was unaccounted for, for about 3 minutes and sure enough, Kona had found an unattended beer, knocked it over and started her true love affair. Now she is never given beer, we aren’t irresponsible parents providing alcohol to an underage minor, but with our home brew operation, she is always right in the action. And loves her spent grain treats!

Kona is our constant reminder of unconditional love. She reminds us that no matter what has happened in your past, tomorrow always brings promise of a pupcup and car ride. She has turned into forever rescue dog parents and has made us into better hoomans.

And given us a few brew names along the way!
