Aloha & “Howdy Y’all”. My name is Kapono - it means goodness in Hawaiian. I would like to be considered as an ambassador and spokesdog. I’m a happy, energetic boy who brings laughter and comfort to everyone I meet.

I kept my doggie “sister”, Freya (a Charleston Animal Society rescue), company the last two years of her life. I tried to get her to play with me and shared her dog bed with her.

Six months later I met my new rescue “sister”, Lexi. My mom drove three hours to rescue her and bring her to our loving home. She was heartworm positive and had mammary cancer. My mom got her completely healthy and gave her all the footballs she wanted. She was a sweet German Shepherd. I had fun stealing her footballs and letting her chase me around the yard.

Now it’s just me and my mom. I lay under her chair while she works. I’m the best coworker. After work (Pau Hana), we lounge on the porch and, sometimes, I help her pick out flowers and vegetable plants for her garden and then eat them after she’s worked so hard to plant them.
