In a dark and cold closet, I huddled with my brothers and sisters as we waited for help. Our mother was sick and we were all hungry and thirsty. Our bodies were weak and we had almost lost hope when a bright light shone through the closet door. A beautiful girl with tears in her eyes discovered us and took us to her home. She gave us food, water, and lots of cuddles. Sadly, two of my siblings didn't make it, but the girl didn't give up. She took care of us until we regained our strength.

As time passed, I grew more hopeful and began to believe that I was destined for something greater. I hoped that I was worthy of love. Finally, when we were five months old, families came to visit us and choose one of us to be their own puppy. I was nervous when it was my turn, but my new family was patient, warm, and made me feel safe. They showed me love and I knew that I would never be abandoned again.

Now, I am brave and love going on car rides, being silly, playing at the dog park, and spending time with my kitten, chickens, and doggie sister. I'll never forget the day I was rescued and the care that I was given. I'm forever grateful that I was given a chance to be happy and loved.
