Asa here! I'm a special needs rescue American Eskimo Dog and fluffy sasshole loving life in Charleston, SC. I don't like to think about the scary things I went through before June 3, 2016 (my gotcha day!). I had a family when I was little, but I think I did something wrong. They got angry at me, threw me in a crate, and dropped me off in a scary, loud place filled with lots of other thrown-away doggos. I didn't like it there and I was terrified of what may happen to me. I waited and waited for my people to come back for me, but I never saw them again. I luckily got transferred from a "high-kill shelter" to a "no-kill shelter," which is where I met my forever hoomans (I much prefer them)! I loved them the second I met them, even though the workers told them I hated everyone else. I'm still an anxious boi (getting thrown away really gives you trust issues), but I'm so thankful to be in a loving forever home! Over the years, my hoomans have taught me lots of commands and fun tricks, taken me on adventures, and even helped me make friends. I would do anything for them—and I show them how much I adore them every day. Mom says I'm her "heart dog," her soulmate in canine form.
