After being used as a breeding dog most of her life, then almost losing her life giving birth to the last litter and having a C-section, Mavis was cruelly thrown in a high kill shelter in Los Angeles with several infections and a healing C-section scar. However, even after 8 years of being used as a commodity and otherwise being neglected, Mavis is one of the sweetest and most gentle dogs I've ever met, especially with small humans. But she would say that her best qualification for the Palmetto Spokesdog is that she is a social butterfly and if they would let her, she'd always be at the bars or breweries after a long day of protecting her home, really just the couch, from intruders. She wants me to tell you that she is looking forward to meeting all of you in person as soon as she wins this contest!!
