Jodo was rescued from Charleston animal society in November 2022. He had a severe skin infection, double ear infection and worms. He was labeled as aggressive and untrainable because he looked scary. Jodo’s mom saw that he was just a scared puppy with a lot of love to give. Today, Jodo is healthy as can be and has been professionally trained and certified as a psychiatric service dog. He comes to class with his mom who is a medical student at MUSC. He breaks stereotypes of dog breeds as Jodo is a German shephard pit bull mix, often mistaken for a Doberman, and educates people on the importance of service dogs.
