Lucky is a rescued bird. The little budgie was found visiting a neighbor's backyard as November got increasingly chilly. Although he had a lovely flock of sparrows to pall around with, we were concerned that he wouldn't survive a Chicago winter. Therefore we caught him with a millet offering, and took him in as part of our family. Every night he sleeps with his bell on his back. We think this is because he grew up roosting with sparrows and needs something to cuddle at night. He lets us pet his back as we sing him his goodnight song every night. Every morning he wakes up ready to greet the day, watch Daniel Tiger, and give a lot of kisses.
