Rooney is a neutered male Australian Shepard mix approximately 13 years old. He was brought to RPC in fall of 2012 filthy, emaciated and terrified. He had been running from demons for sometime and his veterinarian verified that he had suffered severe abuse. His behaviors were so bad that no one would consider adoption. His future looked bleak until a volunteer at the shelter took a leap of faith and brought him to his new home in Norway where his new life has included traveling to camp in Albany on Songo Pond, rides on the party boat, trail walks and endless car rides. Recently Rooney was diagnosed with a terminal immune system disorder called Masticatory Muscle Myositis. Unfortunately the MMM has slowed him down a bit and is currently being managed with medication.
