About Us

Richardson Kiwanis was founded in 1954 and has been an active supporter of the community throughout. Living up to the Kiwanis motto – "Serving the Children of the World". In the mid-eighties we founded the Dallas Ramp Project that builds wheelchair ramps for those who cannot afford to have one built. In addition, we have held food packaging events, one for the Richardson Network where we packaged 100 cases of meals for their clients.

Other events for storm damaged areas and to send to the Texas border. We buy books and donate them to local schools with families that do not have books at home.

We are also sponsor the Key Club at Berkner HS and have sponsored a K Kids at Bowie elementary for several years. These Service Leadership Clubs allow young leaders of the future to learn their trade. We have been active and a supporter of many other projects over the years including the Richardson YMCA and Eliminate, a Kiwanis International project to eliminate neonatal tetanus in babies and mothers around the world. Kiwanis stands ready to help in unanticipated circumstances. As such we have filled and delivered backpacks for schools, the Richardson Police Department, homeless veterans and storm damaged areas.

Having a successful fundraising event will enable us to engage in many more areas of service in our community that are not being addressed.
