Avila is a sweet little tripod with a whole lot of sass! Avila came from north Georgia and bounced around in various animal shelters before coming to the Humane Society of Atlanta. With no back story to go off, including her true age, Avila joined her fur ever home with only three legs, but a whole heart of love.

Avila’s favorite activities include exploring the nature trails at State Parks, trying to catch her frisbee in midair (and stick the landing), chasing her best friend Sadie around the yard, and snuggling on the couch for a movie at the end of a long day of fun.

If Avila could tell the world one thing, it would be this: Many humans think it takes a special kind of person to adopt a tripod, but they’re wrong. Tripods love life despite being a bit slower and falling over when taking turns too sharply. Most of the time, we don’t even realize something’s missing, that is, until we have itch that we literally can’t scratch! The true secret to life is this: humans that rescue their best friends don’t always realize that they need rescuing too. That’s where we come in - we rescue the rescuers when they need rescuing.
