Pet's Story or Bio
Sophie is my service dog who graduated from 4Paws2Freedom. She open doors for me, pulls me in my wheelchair on command, picks things up for me and hands them to me, and she can go get items for me if I can't get them myself. She can also carry small items for me and she can even open the refrigerator! Sophie also does so much more than that for me. She helps me emotionally by being my loyal companion, protector and comforter. The question we ask all people who rescue pets is, who really saved who? In my case I think Sophie saved me, even though I rescued her from homelessness and gave her a home and a job. We were definitely meant for each other and I consider her coming into my life as a blessing.
Sophie was selected for the Placer SPCA Hero award in 2021 and was finally awarded her hero plaque in person in March of 2022 for being MY HERO and superstar!
I am so blessed to have her and I thank each and every person who supported and donated to her cause to become a service dog. I also thank the Placer SPCA for generously giving Sophie to me to do this important work! I would also like to thank my amazing service dog trainers and 4Paws2Freedom for the amazing work you have done to make Sophie such a solid service dog and for guiding me through this amazing journey.
