Please share something special about your pet or a favorite memory
Pete was not treated nicely in his early years and developed a strong distrust of humans. Since coming to us in January 2021 as a “hard-to-place” dog, we have worked with Pete on his reactivity to others being near. He has worked so hard and we’ve really seen his personality shine through. When he feels safe, he is sweet and a big silly dork. He is so expressive and even a bit mouthy at times, but he’s a big ham and makes us laugh endlessly. It’s so rewarding to see him trust us enough to not react to people passing by or to sit calmly while his canine sister does the socializing for both of them. Pete is, at his core, a happy-go-lucky guy who lets his light shine for those he trusts, and it’s a gift to get to see it every day.
