Hi everyone! My name is Finnigan Potlicker. When I was about 2 months I was being abused by some kids who poked me in the eye with a stick and ruptured my eyeball. Seeing that I needed medical attention, some very nice people took me to SAGA where I underwent surgery to have my right eye removed. The veterinarians thought I was the only survivor of my litter and said I was lucky to have been rescued when I was. SAGA posted my story on line and my Mom quickly came to SAGA and adopted me. My eye healed well, but I had hookworm (twice), was malnourished, dehydrated, had ringworm, two tick-born diseases, was critically anemic and my protein levels were critically low. The vet was not optimistic. But I have been having weekly checkups and with proper medications and care, I am doing much better. I am happy to report I am now a sturdy 11lbs 2oz (from 2lbs 2oz just 3 months ago) and am very happy. I have a great life now full of love, hugs and kisses. The wonderful people at SAGA, many of them volunteers, saved my life and work hard everyday to save many more.
