Pet's Story or Bio
I was working in San Pedro, Belize for a month and housing was provided. Fatefully, the provided lodging was right next to SAGA Humane Society. Missing my dog "baby" Riley, who stayed in the US with his daddy, I stopped by SAGA to visit with the strays. I caught sight of Ruby in a rolling, romping swarm of spotted puppies, and I was hopelessly in love.
What followed was several weeks of tense nail-biting as Ruby contracted an illness, lost a frightening amount of weight and was put in isolation. SAGA took good care of her and eventually she was well enough to come home with me.
Then the nail biting was about whether or not I'd be able to return to the US with her! But that worked out too, and now she's settled in her new life in a new country and climate and doing fantastic! Every day she brings so much laughter and love (in the form of wriggling, side-splitting tail wagging) into our lives that we can't imagine life without her.
