Both Penny (the blonde) and Jack were Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter rescues that we adopted, about 6 months apart. Both were neglected - Jack abandoned and Penny given up - and both had numerous ailments, horrible teeth, skin problems and emotional issues when adopted. Both also were neutered by the shelter, and both were recovering from that as well extensive dental work on those tiny little mouths when adopted. Now, six years later, Penny and Jack are happy, healthy, well adjusted Live Oak residents! Penny is a bit of a diva, but never let's you forget that even at a whopping 3 pounds, she is still a fierce pup. And Jack, our now senior dog, loves the outdoors, playing with his rambunctious sister Penny, and is an absolute love bug. They have brought so much joy to us, their papas. We are eternally grateful for the Animal Shelter and all they do to bring pets like ours to folks like us who get to love them.
