A little about me...
Sometimes it seems like I'm a strange visitor from another planet, but I was actually found wandering the streets of Monterey. Yes, I was an abandoned dog! The Monterey County Animal Shelter didn't have room for me, so I was transferred to the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter. On December 16, 2019, the first day I became adoptable, I met my forever human and it was love at first sight...for both of us. They brought me out to the yard and he called my name, which I only received the day before, and I ran over to him and gave him a big hug. I wanted to go home with him that day, but the Shelter had to get me ready, so I had to wait two days to get to my new home, which is my forever home. I was a slim 80-pound dog when I was adopted, but now I tip the scales at 133 pounds. As a Great Pyrenees mix, I'm considered a giant breed, although at times I think of myself as a lapdog. Many people see me and my human father walking all over the Live Oak area or they know us from the Chanticleer dog park. Don't let my size scare you - I'm a lover, not a fighter, and I would love to give you a big hug when we meet. My likes include belly rubs, frozen bones, and sleeping. My dislikes include garbage trucks, squirrels, seagulls, and coyotes. I'm not faster than a bullet, but I do mosey quite well. I cannot leap tall buildings in a single bound, but I can get up on the bench at the dog park. I'm a super happy dog and I'd love to have you vote for me to be a calendar dog. Thanks for getting to know me. My tail is wagging with excitement!
