A little about me...
Tawny is a wild and crazy terrier mix we adopted from the County Animal Shelter on April 2, 2022. We were not really emotionally ready to replace our previous dog, an elderly and ill Silky Terrier who we had to say good by to when we moved to Santa Cruz in late 2020.
Tawny was under a year old, a fearful and stressed puppy, and for the first two months we thought she could not bark. Once she settled in with us, she found her voice and made up for lost time!
She is now a vocal and active member of the family. Her great joy is visits to the Frederick Street dog park, where she loves chasing her friends and being chased. Like most terriers, she is active, determined, and willful. Training has made our lives easier as well as hers, and we finally realized that we her owners are the ones being trained.. Thanks to everyone at the County Animal Shelter for all they did for us and countless other pets and owners.
