Rules
HOW TO SUBMIT PHOTOGRAPHS:
- There is a $30 fee to submit a photo into the contest.
- To submit photos, click on the Participate tab above and follow the directions to upload a photograph of your pet.
- The contest is open to pets of all species.
- Your photo may contain only one pet.
- Photos must be of companion animals only - no people.
- All votes are donations to Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter and are fully tax-deductible as permitted by law. Our EIN is 90-0039494.
- Once submitted all photos become the property of the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter and may be shared with sponsors for promotional purposes.
ELIGIBLE PHOTOGRAPHS:
- Photos must contain one pet and be submitted by the pet's owner.
- Any image that contains content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent or obscene, as determined by the staff of Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter, will be removed from the Photo Fundraiser.
VOTE FOR YOUR FAVORITES:
- The 12 entries with the most votes will win a month page on the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter 2026 calendar with a picture selected from a private photo shoot by a local professional pet photographer. Plus, your entry fee (and vote donations) will support thousands of homeless animals in need who come to our open-admission Shelter.
- Once a photo is submitted, it will appear in the online gallery on Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter's contest website, and be open to voting by the general public. Votes are $1 each.
- All votes for photo submissions will be tabulated and displayed online.
- To vote, click on the Participate tab above. The online voting period will end at 9:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
- Ending time for the Photo Fundraiser will be determined by the host website's server, which will show prominently on the Photo Fundraiser website as a countdown clock on the last day of the fundraiser.
