Chewy was a SAPA! puppy, on the EBI list at 1 week old, along with a sibling. He was taken into foster care by one of SAPA!'s great foster mommies! When he was 8 weeks old, a photo surfaced on the SAPA! Facebook page. I was working adoption counseling at adoption events, and I saw him at three events in a row. When I went to the fourth event and he was there, at 11 weeks old, I knew he was meant for me! Everyone else had passed him by...too quiet! He is now in training to be a therapy dog and has passed his Canine Good Citizen test with flying colors! I joke that he is an AKC registered mutt! He's the best San Antonio Special out there! His story is a message to folks who don't believe that shelter dogs can be good dogs....he's the BEST!
